Our Third and Finale Expedition at Cardigan

The final day at Cardigan flew by for me. We woke up in a rush to get ready, pack the trailer, and eat breakfast so we could have plenty of time out on the trails. The group I was in went to Duke's Meadow while the others went there too or to Welton Falls. The day mainly consisted of games, snacks, and scavenger hunts. We did a compass trail, which was basically a scavenger hunt except using coordinates to find the answers. We listened to the clues and went to find what they were referring to using our gps trackers. We learned that Dukes meadow many, many years ago, was a grazing field based of the plants and stone walls we found. We also found an abandoned car and old ski lift pull. It was really cool. After our scavenger hunt for the compass trail, we ate our lunch and played a bunch of fun games until we had to go back to the lodge. Once all the groups were back we had a closing meeting with everyone and said goodbye to all the counselors before getting on the bus and heading home. Overall, the trip was a lot of fun and I learned so much!

Human Environment Interaction

On day 3, our group got to explore something really cool. We got to see an old ski lift and car. This would be an example of Human Environment Interaction. That is because both of these changed the environment because of humans. Some other examples of human environment interaction include stone walls, tree markers, etc. Examples of the environment changing humans was that we had to wear nylon clothing because it was wet and the environment did not let us wear cotten unless we wanted to get sick. We also had to wear rain pants because the environment made the area wet and muddy, changing what we were going to wear.

Overall, we had a great time on the three days we were at Cardigan. (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.)
